You dislike it too: Sore Throat [Part 2]

Part 1: http://blog.omidfarhang.com/2012/01/you-dislike-it-too-sore-throat.html

Part2:
As I told you in my other post, I’m dealing with a Sore Throat which is very annoying, I tried some simple stuff like gargle warm water and salt, drinking warm drinks, honey and lemon, lots of Vitamin C, Zinc and and and…. they did not work, my Sore Throat went one step ahead and reached a major infection level.

I went to meet my doctor, after a check-up he wrote a long prescription for me:

  • Ciprofloxacin 500mg tablet[sip-roe-FLOX-a-sin] A drug used to treat infections caused by bacteria. It is also being studied in the treatment of bladder cancer. Ciprofloxacin belongs to the family of drugs called fluoroquinolones. Also called Cipro.
  • Acetylcysteine 600mg Effervescent Tablet: A drug usually used to reduce the thickness of mucus and ease its removal. It is also used to reverse the toxicity of high doses of acetaminophen. Also called N-acetyl-L-cysteine.
  • Strepsils Honey and Lemon lozenges: Strepsils honey and lemon lozenges contain two active ingredients, amylmetacresol and dichlorobenzyl alcohol.
Both of these are mild antiseptics, that kill the bacteria associated with mouth and throat infections.
The action of sucking the lozenge allows the active ingredients to work in the area of the discomfort and also helps lubricate and soothe the painful area. This helps relieve the soreness and discomfort of mouth and throat infections.
  • Vitamin C 500mg Effervescent Tablet: Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin, which is needed by the body to form collagen in bones, cartilage, muscle, and blood vessels, and which aids in the absorption of iron. Dietary sources of vitamin C include fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruits such as oranges.
  • Herbal Expectprant Antitussive Syrup Made from Thymus Vulgaris: In 1725, a German apothecary discovered that the plant’s essential oil contains a powerful disinfectant called thymol that is effective against bacteria and fungi. Thymol also acts as a expectorant, loosening phlegm in the respiratory tract so it can be coughed up. Later herbalists listed thyme for these uses and as remedy for numerous other complaints, including diarrhoea and fever. They prescribed the oil externally as an antiseptic for fungal infections such as athlete’s foot.
  • Generic Cold Medicine: Each Tablet Contain
    • Acetaminophen 325mg: A drug that reduces pain and fever (but not inflammation). It belongs to the family of drugs called analgesics.
    • Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 5mg: medication used to treat nasal congestion and maintain stable blood pressure
    • Chlorpheniramine Maleate 2mg: Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergy, hay fever, and the common cold. These symptoms include rash, watery eyes, itchy eyes/nose/throat/skin, cough, runny nose, and sneezing.
Do not take this as medical advice, you should NEVER take any medicine without checking with your healthcare provider first, Information that you are reading here is only a personal experience of mine.

You dislike it too: Sore Throat

I bet you dislike it when your throat hurts, when you have that damned feeling in your skin, when your nose become a useless meat on your face, when you become slightly weak and when your eyes get tired soon, after-all when you realize you have got cold or flu…

Yeah, above text is all about me and how I am now, finally those little virus(es) could welcome themselves to my body and have a party, those little unwanted guests!

What do you do in such Situation? I like to hear your ideas, Meet a doctor or self-treatment? If you do self-treatment what is that? Taking meds or natural stuff?

Personally I follow these (if no fever):

  1. Be patient, no solution will heal in a moment, flu will take at least 3 days and maximum 2 weeks.
  2. Taking more vitamin and mineral, I get them via pills (Take care to don’t overdoes).
  3. Drink lots of warm drinks, my favorite one is hot water + honey + lemon.
  4. Keep home environments humidity in a good level.
  5. Have less fried foods.
  6. Stay away from stuff with high histamine.
  7. Rest more!
I try to do that and usually I’ve got a good result without meeting a doctor, but if I’ve fever I will meet a doctor asap!
Take care my friends!

Feeling good, abnormally

Is not it great when you feel happy without any reason? When nothing happened and you smile…Yeah, I don’t know why but I’m feeling that way, My life is not ideal and majority of stuff around me is negative but still I’ve this strange happiness inside! No matter it came from but that’s very welcome and I like that.

A few days ago I’ve been sitting in the bus coming back home and listening to beautiful voice of Kirsty Hawkshaw singing “A Million Star” and feeling warmth of sunshine on my face after a very cold snowy day and also having less stress in mind since some of the problems is unlocked (not solved yet, but in progress in a good way…), In that moment I really felt its time to smile and enjoy the life, life can be beautiful from time to time.

That story is continuing, that happiness don’t want to leave me any soon, its a while everything look beautiful, all new people around me looks good, all the events are positive, I’m no new negative event, yes I’ve some tragedy hunting me but those are not new and they are coming with me and won’t leave me without a big change but I’ve so much good new thing in my life, I want to yell and scream express my happiness!

Anyway, Happy New Year!
